Prohibits manufacturing, importing, installing, reinstalling, selling, or offering for sale counterfeit or nonfunctional air bags in motor vehicles, including previously deployed, damaged, or repaired air bags designed to mislead vehicle owners

Makes it illegal to sell or install devices that cause a vehicle's diagnostic system to falsely indicate a functional air bag is installed when it is not

Establishes felony penalties for violations: fines between $1,000 and $5,000, imprisonment up to 3 years, or both, with each transaction constituting a separate offense

Amends Mississippi Code Section 75-24-5 to classify violations as unfair or deceptive trade practices under state consumer protection law

Effective date of July 1, 2015
