Changes Section 37-13-8 of Mississippi Code to require (rather than allow) local school boards to authorize a brief period of quiet reflection at the start of each school day in public school classrooms.

Limits the period of quiet reflection to no more than 60 seconds at the opening of school each day.

Specifies that the moment of quiet reflection is not intended to be conducted as a religious service or exercise, but rather as an opportunity for silent reflection.

Becomes effective July 1, 2015.
