Commends and congratulates Katie Rogers of Collins, Mississippi, a Simpson County Academy student, for being named a 2015 State Honoree in the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

Recognizes Katie's volunteer service at Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson where she worked in the children's activity room to support sick and injured young patients.

Honors Katie's additional volunteer work with the American Cancer Society and her service teaching English to children in rural Peru.

Notes Katie will receive a $1,000 award, silver medallion, and trip to Washington, D.C., with potential for an additional $5,000 award and gold medallion if selected as National Honoree.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Katie Rogers and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
