Commends and congratulates Mr. David Abney, a native of Greenwood, Mississippi, on being named the 11th Chief Operating Officer of the United Parcel Service (UPS) in the company's 107-year history.

Recognizes Mr. Abney's 40-year career at UPS beginning in 1974 as a part-time package loader, advancing through various operational positions to reach his current role.

Acknowledges his educational background with a bachelor's degree in business administration from Delta State University and his service on multiple boards including the Delta State University Alumni Foundation, UPS Foundation, Johnson Controls Inc., and Airlines for America.

Highlights his leadership responsibilities managing UPS logistics, sustainability, engineering, alternative fuel fleet investments, and directing the UPS transportation network serving over 200 countries and territories.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Mr. Abney, the United Parcel Service, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
