Commends William M. "Mitch" Stennett upon his retirement after 25 years as president of the Economic Development Authority of Jones County, Mississippi.

Recognizes Stennett's 36-year career in economic development, including roles as Regional Developer for the Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development (1985-1986) and Executive Director of the Clarksdale-Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Foundation (1986-1990).

Credits Stennett with facilitating the creation of over 8,000 jobs and capital investments exceeding $500 million in Mississippi.

Notes Stennett received the Harry A. Martin Award in 1998 as Mississippi's Outstanding Economic Developer for 1997-1998 and was named an Honorary Life Member of both the Southern Economic Development Council (2004) and Mississippi Economic Development Council (2015).

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Stennett and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
