Commends and congratulates the East Mississippi Community College Lions Football Team for winning the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship on December 7, 2014, defeating Iowa Western Community College 34-17.

Recognizes the team's undefeated 12-0 record for the second consecutive year and their third national championship in four years, making them the first Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges member to win back-to-back titles.

Honors sophomore quarterback Chad Kelly as the Most Valuable Offensive Player and Mississippi Bowl Committee's 2014 Player of the Year for his 434-yard, five-touchdown passing performance in the championship game.

Recognizes Head Coach Buddy Stephens as the American Community College Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year for the second time and commends his transformation of the program from one playoff appearance to a 68-10 record over seven seasons.

Directs the furnishing of copies of this resolution to Head Coach Buddy Stephens and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
