Commends astronaut Fred Wallace Haise, Jr., a native of Biloxi, Mississippi, for his distinguished exploratory career, courageous leadership, and meritorious service to the nation.

Recognizes Haise's service as lunar module pilot on Apollo 13 in April 1970, where he and fellow crew members safely returned to Earth after converting their lunar module into a lifeboat following a service module oxygen system explosion.

Acknowledges Haise's extensive military aviation service with 9,300 hours of flight time, including service as a Marine Corps fighter pilot, Navy instructor, and Air Force tactical fighter pilot.

Honors Haise's numerous prestigious awards including the Presidential Medal for Freedom (1970), NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and NASA Ambassador of Exploration Award (2009).

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Astronaut Haise and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
