Philadelphia High School "Lady Tornadoes" defeated Nettleton 13-6 on October 25, 2014, to win the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 3A State Championship with a 2-1 series victory.

Team achieved a 28-6 season record by employing strong defense, disciplined pitching, and resilient play that allowed them to recover from losses and ultimately win the state championship.

Lady Tornadoes overcame Choctaw Central in the playoffs after losing twice to them during the regular season, then won the final two games of that series convincingly.

House of Representatives commends and congratulates the team, Head Coach Austin McNair, Assistant Coaches Jordan Flake and Cody Freeman, and all 19 roster members for bringing pride to their school and community.

Resolution directs that copies be furnished to Coach McNair, Philadelphia High School Principal Jason B. Gentry, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
