Mourns the death of Reverend Dr. James David Holmes, who passed away on January 18, 2015, and commemorates his life and legacy.

Recognizes Dr. Holmes' service as an ordained African Methodist Episcopal Church minister who served as Presiding Elder of the Grenada District (2003) and later the Greenville-Greenwood District.

Acknowledges his military service in the United States Navy, his education at Cuyahoga Community College, and his pastoral leadership at multiple churches including Featherston African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Extends sympathy to his surviving family members, including his wife Hermine Bowser Holmes, four children, three stepchildren, siblings, sixteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Dr. Holmes' family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
