MS SB2015

Creates the crime of "employment fraud" for persons who obtain access to manufacturing, retail, agricultural, or other business facilities by false pretenses or false statements in employment applications.

Requires that false statements be made knowingly with intent to commit an unauthorized act at the facility to constitute a violation.

Establishes first offense as a misdemeanor punishable by fine up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment up to one year.

Establishes second or subsequent offense as a felony punishable by fine up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment up to five years.

Effective date is July 1, 2015.
