Prohibits tanning facilities from allowing anyone under 18 years of age to use tanning devices, replacing previous rules that allowed minors with parental consent.

Requires tanning facility operators to check photo identification issued by a government entity or educational institution to verify users are at least 18 years old.

Mandates tanning facilities post notices developed by the Mississippi State Department of Health informing of the age restriction, civil penalties for violations, health risks of tanning, and instructions for reporting violations.

Establishes civil penalties of up to $100 for the first violation and up to $500 for subsequent violations, with authority to deny, suspend, or revoke facility registration.

Exempts physicians licensed to practice medicine in Mississippi who use phototherapy devices in medical practice from the age restrictions.

Effective July 1, 2015.
