Creates a distinctive "Legion of Merit" license plate available to Mississippi residents who received this military decoration, limited to one plate per recipient for private passenger vehicles or pickup trucks

Exempts vehicles with the Legion of Merit license tag from all motor vehicle registration fees, privilege taxes, and ad valorem taxes

Allows the unremarried surviving spouse of a Legion of Merit recipient to apply for or retain the distinctive plate and continue annual renewals

Requires proof of Legion of Merit status through a certificate from the State Veterans Affairs Board at the time of application

Establishes penalties for fraudulent claims under this section: minimum $1,000 fine, minimum 6 months in county jail, or both
