Expands the scope of podiatric medicine practice in Mississippi to include treatment of the ankle, muscles, and tendons of the lower leg that govern foot and ankle function.

Requires podiatrists seeking to treat ankles and lower leg muscles/tendons to complete advanced training at a program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting association and approved by the state board.

Authorizes the board to establish rules for implementation based on the education and training level of applicants.

Permits podiatrists to prescribe and administer drugs and tests (excluding general and spinal anesthesia) for treatment of the foot, ankle, muscles, and tendons of the lower leg.

Effective date: July 1, 2015.
