Amends Section 99-19-81 of the Mississippi Code to require that a person sentenced as a habitual offender must have been sentenced to AND served separate terms of one year or more in state or federal correctional facilities (adds the "served" requirement).

Habitual offender sentencing applies to persons convicted of a felony who have two prior felony or federal crime convictions from separate charges and separate incidents at different times.

Persons sentenced as habitual offenders must receive the maximum term of imprisonment for the felony and are ineligible for sentence reduction, suspension, parole, or probation.

Effective July 1, 2015.
