Revises procedures for removing county medical examiners (CME) and county medical examiner investigators (CMEI) by requiring written notice and a hearing before the State Medical Examiner, rather than removal at the State Medical Examiner's discretion.

Establishes a formal complaint and hearing process where any person may file a written complaint alleging inefficiency, moral turpitude, improper conduct, or other good cause, with the respondent receiving 30 days to respond.

Grants the respondent the right to appear with counsel, present evidence, and cross-examine witnesses, with the State Medical Examiner issuing a decision within 90 days of the hearing.

Allows the State Medical Examiner to impose discipline including public or private admonition or removal upon proof of wrongdoing, with the respondent able to appeal to the Circuit Court of the First Judicial District of Hinds County.

Amends Section 9-1-27 to include CME and CMEI positions in the appointment of interim officers when vacancies occur or incumbents are absent or unable to serve.
