MS SB2544

Amends Section 99-19-107 of Mississippi Code to clarify sentencing when a death sentence is ruled unconstitutional by state or federal courts.

Expands the statute to cover both blanket constitutional rulings on capital punishment and individual cases where a specific person's death sentence is found unconstitutional (due to their membership in a class of offenders or other individual circumstances).

Requires the court to sentence the affected person to life imprisonment without parole eligibility.

Takes effect upon passage.
