Requires drivers under age 17 to complete an approved driver's education course and provide evidence of passing to obtain an intermediate license in Mississippi.

Driver's education course must be approved by the Department of Education or taught by a person qualified as a driving instructor by the Department of Education.

Exempts drivers age 17 or older who hold a regular learner's permit and have no convictions from the driver's education course requirement.

Drivers with a prior out-of-state license held for at least 6 months are exempted from learner's permit and intermediate license requirements.

Effective date: October 1, 2015.
