Mississippi Highway Patrol Team (Team MHP) placed first in the 13th Annual LawFit Challenge held June 19-21, 2014, in Olive Branch, Mississippi, with a score of 1515 points, breaking the previous record of 1496 set in 2010.

Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Team (Team Wildlife) placed second with a score over 1475 points, marking the first time two state agencies from the same state took top honors in the competition's history.

Team Mississippi competitors dominated individual events, with seven members finishing in the Top Ten overall and nine in the Top Fifteen, while winning or placing second in all six competitive events (bench press, sit-ups, sit and reach, pull-ups, 1.5-mile run, and 200-yard agility course).

The LawFit Challenge is a national competition established by the National Center for Public Safety Fitness to recognize law enforcement officers meeting high fitness standards for job-related duties and officer safety.

The concurrent resolution commends both teams and directs that the resolution be presented to team members, the Commissioner of Public Safety, and the Executive Director of the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
