Recognizes Senator W. Briggs Hopson III of Vicksburg on his election as President-Elect of The Mississippi Bar, with his term beginning after the July 2015 Annual Meeting.

Hopson is a partner at Teller, Hassell & Hopson, LLP with 18 years of practice in Vicksburg and prior experience in New Orleans and Gulfport; holds degrees from University of Mississippi (BBA in Banking and Finance in 1987, JD in 1990); and is licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Hopson serves as State Senator for District 23 (Issaquena, Warren, and Yazoo Counties) and chairs the Judiciary "A" Committee; also serves as Vice Chairman of the Law and Criminal Justice Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Has held leadership positions with The Mississippi Bar including Board of Bar Commissioners, Young Lawyer's President, Warren County Bar Association President, and serves as Fellow of The Mississippi Bar Foundation.

Active in civic organizations including Chairman of the United Way of West Central Mississippi and Good Shepherd Community Center; serves as District Chancellor for Mississippi United Methodist Church; is married with three children.
