Designates September 2015 as "Pain Awareness Month" in Mississippi to increase public awareness of chronic pain and its impacts.

Recognizes that over 100 million American adults suffer from chronic pain conditions such as lower back pain, fibromyalgia, and arthritis, with annual costs up to $635 billion in health expenses and lost productivity.

References the 2011 Institute of Medicine report "Relieving Pain in America: A Blueprint for Transforming Prevention, Care, Education, and Research" and its recommendations for improving pain care and reducing opioid abuse.

Directs appropriate state agencies to examine how Mississippi can improve citizen health and productivity while reducing personal and government health expenditures by implementing the Institute of Medicine's recommendations.

Orders transmission of the resolution to the State Board of Health for distribution and availability to the Capitol Press Corps.
