Senate Concurrent Resolution mourning the death of Douglas (Doug) Cunningham, who died on January 13, 2015, at age 69.

Cunningham was an Ole Miss football star who averaged nine yards per touch over three varsity seasons and was named All-Southeastern Conference in 1966 when he led Ole Miss to an 8-3 record.

He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round and played as a halfback, wingback, and kick returner, known for his exceptional speed and elusiveness.

After his football career, Cunningham became a popular Jackson restaurateur, operating Gridley's and Swenson's restaurants, and was elected Colonel Rebel (Mr. Ole Miss) as a senior.

Resolution directs the resolution to be presented to Cunningham's surviving family, the University of Mississippi Alumni Association, and the Capitol Press Corps.
