Congratulates the Greenwood Leflore Recycling Center for receiving the 2014 Local Government Recycler of the Year Award from the Mississippi Recycling Coalition.

Recognizes the program's achievement since launching on March 1, 2011, as a joint effort between the City of Greenwood and Leflore County, including previous recognition as New Program of the Year in 2011.

Highlights four 24-hour recycling drop-off centers in Greenwood collecting plastics, cardboard, paper, metals and aluminum, with participation from more than 100 local businesses.

Notes the program's material recovery facility in a vacant industrial building for sorting, baling and marketing recyclables, plus a new residential curbside program launching in April with grant funding from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.

Directs the resolution to be presented to Anne Marie Kornelis, Director of the Greenwood Leflore Recycling Center, and forwarded to the Mayor of Greenwood, Leflore County Board of Supervisors, and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
