Dean Richard Gershon returns to full-time teaching on June 30, 2015, after five years as Dean of the University of Mississippi School of Law, with Professor Deborah Bell assuming the role of Interim Dean.

Gershon previously served as founding Dean of Charleston School of Law, Dean of Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and faculty member at Stetson University School of Law from 1984-1998.

During his tenure as Dean (2010-2015), the law school relocated to the Robert C. Khayat Law Center, expanded clinical programs to nine opportunities, implemented a mandatory two-week Skill Session, and won seven National Championships in Moot Court and one in Negotiations Skills.

The law school hosted Supreme Court Justices Scalia and Kagan, became the sole host of the American Bar Association's CLEO summer institute, and maintained Top 20 value ranking based on student debt, bar pass rates, and placement.

Resolution extends recognition and commendation to Gershon for his leadership supporting professional standards in legal practice and wishes him success in future endeavors.
