MS HB1043

Requires charter school teachers to obtain alternative licensure from the Mississippi Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure and Development within three years of initial employment (previously applied from initial charter application approval).

Maintains the existing cap that no more than 25% of charter school teachers may be exempt from state teacher licensure requirements.

Removes references to the executive director of the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board also serving as general counsel, conforming to provisions in Chapter 458, Laws of 2014.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
