Public utilities supplying water must obtain prior written approval from the affected sewer district before making new water connections to any dwelling, house, mobile home, residence, or business.

Sewer district approval must certify that the sewage treatment and disposal system plan, including public sewer connection if applicable, has been approved and complies with all district, county, state, and federal requirements.

Public utilities must obtain prior written approval from the sewer district before reconnecting water service to any property with a new owner or lessee.

Public utilities must immediately disconnect water service when the sewer district certifies that a property no longer has a sewage treatment and disposal system or connection to the public sewer.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2016.
