Changes the Department of Mental Health requirement from "may" to "shall" make reasonable efforts to arrange supportive services and residential facilities for patients discharged from treatment facilities for alcoholism or drug addiction.

Renames the "division of alcohol and drug misuse" to the "Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Services" throughout the statute.

Changes terminology from "approved" to "certified" when referring to public and private treatment facilities.

Expands definition of "intoxicated person" to include impairment from drugs in addition to alcohol.

Adds definition of "drug addict" and "drug addiction" by reference to Section 41-31-1.

Effective date: July 1, 2016.
