Appropriates $7,182,941 from the State General Fund and $26,830,520 from special funds to the Department of Archives and History for fiscal year 2017 (July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017)

Authorizes 177 permanent full-time positions, 7 permanent part-time positions, 6 time-limited full-time positions, and 6 time-limited part-time positions

Allocates $2,000,000 from the Mississippi Landmark Grant Fund to preserve Mississippi Landmark Properties and $100,000 for capital development and maintenance of Beauvoir Shrine, Jefferson Davis's last home

Provides $1,803,000 from the Capital Expense Fund for specific projects including $1,000,000 for Mississippi Art Museum Bicentennial, $608,000 for 2 Mississippi Museums, $65,000 for Mississippi Book Festival, and $130,000 for Old Smith County Jailhouse

Designates $750,000 for repair and renovation of the New Capitol, Old Capitol, Governor's Mansion, and War Memorial Building, plus $51,000 from the Historic Properties Trust Fund to study expanding Vicksburg National Military Park
