MS HB1766

Abolishes the office of commissioner from the Harrison County Beautification Commission effective upon passage of HB1766 in the 2016 Regular Session.

Authorizes the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to establish a county beautification commission composed of seven members appointed by supervisors and at large, with terms concurrent to supervisor terms.

Allows the Board of Supervisors to expend up to $50,000 annually from county funds for commission operation, including personnel, education, advertising, and related expenses subject to board-approved budgets.

Permits the Board of Supervisors to appropriate funds from the road and bridge fund for beautification commission projects related to county roads and to accept grants and donations for the commission's purposes.

Takes effect upon passage.
