Requires all eighth grade students in Mississippi public schools to take the EXPLORE assessment beginning in the 2017-2018 school year to measure college readiness.

Requires all tenth grade students in Mississippi public schools to take either PLAN or PSAT beginning in the 2017-2018 school year to assess college and career readiness.

Schools must incorporate assessment results into college and career planning processes and use them to improve student course selection, academic achievement, and workforce readiness skills by the 2018-2019 school year.

State Department of Education shall collect and maintain data from these assessments to track college readiness, improve instruction, enhance school improvement plans, and reduce college remediation rates.

State Department of Education must report annually to the House and Senate Education Committees on implementation and effectiveness of the program beginning October 1, 2020.
