House Bill 219 Summary

• Removes the cap on the number of licensed school nurses with National Board for Certification of School Nurses certificates eligible to receive a $6,000 annual salary supplement (previously limited to 35).

• Removes the cap on the number of licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists with American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certificates eligible to receive the $6,000 annual salary supplement (previously limited to 20 for certified academic language therapists).

• Maintains all other eligibility requirements and procedures for receiving the salary supplement, including documentation submission deadlines of October 15 for full-year eligibility or February 15 for prorated eligibility.

• Takes effect July 1, 2016.
