Eliminates the one-week waiting period required for eligibility for unemployment compensation benefits in Mississippi, effective July 1, 2016.

Updates cross-references throughout Mississippi Code sections 71-5-11, 71-5-13, 71-5-355, 71-5-357, 71-5-359, and 71-5-501 to conform with the removal of the waiting period requirement.

Modifies Section 71-5-511 by removing subsection (d) which previously required individuals to have been unemployed for one week before qualifying for benefits.

Reletters subsequent eligibility requirements in Section 71-5-511 to account for the deletion of the waiting period provision.
