Increases base salary for assistant teachers from $12,500 to $15,000 effective for the 2016-2017 school year.

Assistant teachers receive an additional one percent salary increase for each one percent that state general fund revenue growth exceeds five percent, subject to legislative appropriation.

Provides a 20 percent pay increase to noninstructional school employees with at least one year of service in auxiliary positions (cafeteria and custodial workers) working less than eight hours per day, effective 2016-2017.

Requires school districts to maintain assistant teacher positions through natural attrition; prohibits dismissing assistant teachers to replace them with licensed teachers.

Effective July 1, 2016.
