Terminates membership in the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) for members convicted of or pleading guilty/nolo contendere to felonies related to their state employment committed on or after July 1, 2016.

Refunds accumulated contributions without interest to terminated members within 90 days of employer notice of conviction or plea.

Allows members charged with such crimes who retire before conviction to continue receiving retirement allowances until conviction is final (after all appeals conclude), at which point the allowance terminates.

Permits terminated members to continue participating in the State and School Employees Life and Health Insurance Plan under the same conditions as retired employees.

Effective date: July 1, 2016.
