Removes language stating that offenders convicted of crimes of violence are eligible for parole from Mississippi Code Section 97-3-2.

Maintains requirement that persons convicted of crimes of violence must serve at least 50% of their imposed sentence before becoming eligible for early release from the Department of Corrections.

Applies to all crimes of violence listed in Section 97-3-2, including murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, and 20 other specified violent offenses.

Also applies to felony offenses not specifically listed if a judge determines the crime involved physical force or credible threats of force against another person during commission of the crime.
