Amends Mississippi Code Section 37-151-5 to add a new definition of "at-risk pupil" for the Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP)

Defines "at-risk pupil" as a compulsory-school-age child with increased probability of school failure or dropping out based on specific risk factors

Risk factors include: poverty, single-parent family or being a parent, previous grade retention, below-grade-level educational attainment, failing to meet promotion or graduation requirements, or having an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis

Adds definition of "autism spectrum disorder" as a neurological disorder affecting brain functions, manifested by impairments in communication, social interaction, and restrictive/repetitive behaviors

Effective date of July 1, 2016
