Amends Section 47-5-192 to make violations of contraband rules by Department of Corrections employees or contract employees a felony punishable by up to 2 years imprisonment or up to $2,000 fine, instead of misdemeanor penalties for other persons.

Amends Section 47-5-195 to double penalties for Department of Corrections employees or contract employees who provide contraband to offenders: 6-30 years imprisonment and up to $50,000 fine, compared to 3-15 years and up to $25,000 for other persons.

Establishes separate felony penalties specifically for corrections department employees and contract employees violating contraband-related rules and provisions.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
