Secretary of State shall establish a secure internet website allowing registered voters to update their name, address, or other voter registration information with support from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Changes submitted through the website require verification that the voter has a current valid Mississippi driver's license or photo ID, and that the provided driver's license number, name, and date of birth match records on file with the Department of Public Safety.

Any submitted changes that do not match information on file with the Department of Public Safety shall be rejected.

Changes to voter address that result in the voter moving to a different precinct shall be treated as a written request to transfer registration to the new precinct under existing law.

Persons attempting to change registration information under this section are subject to penalties for false registration under Section 97-13-25, and the act takes effect July 1, 2016.
