MS HB850

Amends Mississippi Code Section 63-3-505 to require drivers to operate vehicles at a safe and appropriate speed when approaching intersections, curves, hill crests, narrow or winding roadways, or areas with pedestrian or traffic hazards.

Maintains existing requirement that no person shall drive at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and existing hazards.

Requires all trucks, truck-trailer combinations, and passenger buses to reduce speed to 45 miles per hour during inclement weather with poor visibility.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
