HB 898 Summary

• Requires the Division of Medicaid to reimburse physicians with designations in family medicine, general internal medicine, pediatric medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, or recognized primary care subspecialties at a rate not less than 100% of the current Medicare rate.

• Defines primary care services as Evaluation and Management codes 99201 through 99499 and vaccine administration codes 90460, 90461, and 90471-90474, including successor codes.

• Mandates that Medicaid managed care plans reimburse for the same primary care services in the same manner as fee-for-service Medicaid.

• Effective July 1, 2016.
