Commemorates Dr. Robert Burwell Townes, who passed away on October 23, 2015, and extends sympathy to his family and friends.

Recognizes Dr. Townes' service as a United States Navy hospital corpsman in World War II and his 51-year medical career in Grenada, Mississippi beginning in 1955.

Honors his contributions as a clinical associate professor of Family Medicine at the University of Mississippi for 30 years and his appointment to the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure by Governor William Winter.

Acknowledges his community leadership roles including past president of the Grenada Lions Club, charter member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and role in establishing the Lovely Lane School for mentally challenged children.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Dr. Townes' family and the Capitol Press Corps.
