Recognizes and commends Patrick Hardison, a 41-year-old volunteer firefighter from Senatobia, Mississippi, for his heroism and bravery in the line of duty.

Honors Hardison's survival and recovery after suffering severe third-degree burns to his face, head, neck and upper torso during a house fire rescue on September 5, 2001, and his subsequent 14 years of recovery involving over 70 surgeries.

Acknowledges the groundbreaking 26-hour face transplant surgery performed on August 14, 2015, by Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez, which was the most extensive face transplant surgery performed to date, costing between $850,000 and $1,000,000.

Notes that the transplant used the face of deceased organ donor David P. Rodebaugh, a 26-year-old Brooklyn artist, whose mother consented to the procedure knowing her son had wanted to be a firefighter.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Patrick Hardison and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
