Mississippi applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution for a convention of states limited to proposing amendments requiring the federal government to balance the federal budget.

Application shall be aggregated with applications from other states addressing the balanced budget subject to determine whether two-thirds of states have applied for such a convention.

Copies of the resolution shall be sent to the Speaker and Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives, the President and Secretary of the U.S. Senate, the Mississippi congressional delegation, and presiding officers of all state legislative houses.

This application constitutes a continuing application under Article V until legislatures of at least two-thirds of the states have made applications on the same subject.
