Recognizes February 2016 as Self-Care Month in Mississippi to raise awareness of the importance of self-care practices and healthy lifestyle choices.

Acknowledges that over-the-counter medicines deemed safe and effective by the FDA can treat minor acute and chronic health conditions such as pain, colds, and allergies.

Notes that each dollar spent on over-the-counter medicines saves the U.S. health care system six to seven dollars annually, totaling $102 billion in yearly savings.

Encourages Mississippi citizens to practice appropriate self-care to reduce unnecessary health care visits, improve personal health outcomes, and strengthen the sustainability of the state's health care system.

Directs copies of the resolution to the State Health Officer and Capitol Press Corps.
