Mourns the death of Charles Noel Hughes, who passed away on January 1, 2016, and was a respected employee of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Commends Hughes' career serving the state, including his roles as Director of State Park Operations, interim Director of State Parks, and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Community Services beginning in 2007.

Recognizes Hughes' service as a fixture at the Capitol during legislative sessions, where he assisted legislators with information on natural resources, state parks, and constituent issues, and forged friendships across party lines.

Extends sympathy to Hughes' surviving family members, particularly his wife Jo Ann Bates Hughes, an administrative assistant to the House of Representatives.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Hughes' family, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and the Capitol Press Corps.
