Commends the life, legacy, and Christian service of Mrs. Mattie Hales Taylor, who was born February 25, 1925, and passed away.

Recognizes her educational achievements including degrees from Meridian Junior College, Jackson State University, and Urban Bible College, as well as her 30+ years as an educator and foster parent.

Honors her service as Dean of Christian Education in Nashville, Tennessee, lifelong membership at Beaver Meadow Missionary Baptist Church, and numerous awards including 1994 Mother of the Year and 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Expresses deepest sympathy to her surviving family members: children Brenda, David, Roy, Chris, Wanda, and Detrick, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Mrs. Taylor's family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
