Commends and congratulates Mrs. Kim Jordan, a teacher at College Park Elementary School in Gautier, Mississippi, for receiving a Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant in recognition of her exceptional teaching and classroom innovation.

Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grant provides $2,000 to fund school projects that develop well-rounded students prepared for real-world challenges.

Mrs. Jordan began teaching creative writing at Gautier Middle School in January 2005 and became a gifted teacher in 2008, instructing IDEAS (Intellectual Development & Enrichment for Advanced Students) classes.

In her first year at College Park Elementary, Mrs. Jordan earned the grant for an innovative project where students identify countries from instructional videos by studying their intricacies, developing global appreciation and cultural understanding.

2016 marks the 20th year Hancock Bank has funded the Leo W. Seal Grant.
