Commends Mr. Henry Arledge for 48 years of dedicated service to the Harrison County School District upon his retirement.

Recognizes Arledge's career progression from teacher at Orange Grove Elementary to assistant superintendent to Superintendent of Education, serving as the longest-serving elected superintendent in Mississippi history with nine consecutive terms spanning 36 years.

Acknowledges his accomplishments including constructing new schools (Three Rivers Elementary, River Oaks Elementary, West Wortham Elementary/Middle School, North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle School, West Harrison High School), rebuilding D'Iberville High School after Hurricane Katrina, and establishing kindergarten classrooms throughout the district.

Recognizes his creation of the Harrison County Alternative School to provide expelled students with academic curriculum and life skills training, and his implementation of educational technology advancements throughout the district.

Directs the House Clerk to furnish copies of this resolution to Mr. Henry Arledge and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
