Amends Section 9-7-14 of the Mississippi Code to revise subdistrict residency requirements for judges in the Third Circuit Court District.

Removes the previous requirement that Place One judges must reside in Calhoun, Chickasaw, Lafayette or Union County, and that Place Two judges must reside in Benton, Marshall or Tippah County.

Eliminates specific county residency mandates while maintaining three separate judgeships denominated as Place One, Place Two, and Place Three.

Applies to the regular judicial election in November 2019 and any intervening elections to fill vacancies in the Third Circuit Court District.

Section 1 takes effect January 1, 2020; Section 2 takes effect upon passage.
