MS SB2273

Requires the Mississippi Department of Corrections to provide cash overtime pay instead of compensatory time to corrections supervisors and corrections commanders for all overtime hours worked as defined under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Amends Section 25-1-98 to allow exceptions to compensatory leave requirements for holidays when otherwise provided by law.

Amends Section 25-3-92 to permit exceptions to compensatory leave requirements for overtime and holiday work when otherwise provided by law.

Amends Section 25-9-119 to allow exceptions to state personnel rules and regulations when otherwise provided by law.

Effective July 1, 2016.
