Amends Mississippi Code Section 97-3-2 to remove language stating that persons convicted of crimes of violence are ineligible for parole or early release until serving at least 50% of their sentence.

Maintains the existing list of 20 offenses classified as crimes of violence, including murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, and burglary of a dwelling.

Preserves the provision allowing judges to classify other felonies (with maximum sentences of at least 5 years) as crimes of violence if the defendant used or threatened physical force against another person.

Clarifies that designating an offense as a crime of violence does not affect parole eligibility or early release eligibility determinations.
